The winery Janko, founded in 2006, is located in Smederevo, near the historic Villa Obrenović. In addition to its diverse range of wines, the winery has particularly developed through the rediscovery and promotion of the autochthonous grape variety Smederevka earned, which today enjoys a new reputation in Serbian viticulture.
Vinification:
The cuvée from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet franc is already assembled in the vineyard. The harvest is followed by approximately two weeks of maceration, followed by a further month of natural sedimentation. Maturation takes place in Serbian oak barrels, using both new and used barrels. Merlot is added shortly before bottlingto give the cuvée additional richness and elegance.
Bouquet:
An expressive scent profile with ripe soft fruits, infused with notes of fresh cherries. Finely nuanced aromas create depth and excitement.
Flavor:
On the palate, a harmonious composition of berries, ripe plums and sweet spices. Die Tannins are velvety, the Fine-tuned acidity. The long finish is influenced by echoes of tobacco, dark coffee And a whiff Wild mushroom worn.
