The Janko Winery, founded in 2006, is located in Smederevo , near the historic Obrenović Villa. In addition to its diverse wine palette, the winery has made a name for itself through the rediscovery and promotion of the indigenous Smederevka grape variety, which today enjoys a new reputation in Serbian viticulture.
Vinification:
The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is blended in the vineyard. After the harvest, maceration lasts approximately two weeks, followed by a further month of natural sedimentation. Aging takes place in Serbian oak barriques , using both new and used barrels. Merlot is added shortly before bottling to give the blend additional richness and elegance.
Bouquet:
An expressive fragrance profile with ripe berries , interspersed with notes of fresh cherries. Finely nuanced aromas create depth and excitement.
Taste:
On the palate, a harmonious composition of berries, ripe plums , and sweet spices unfolds. The tannins are velvety , the acidity finely balanced . The long finish is carried by hints of tobacco, dark coffee , and a touch of wild mushroom .
