The Matalj winery in Negotinska Krajina builds on decades of winemaking tradition, which is proudly passed on from generation to generation.

Produce the highest quality grapes and wines

The Mladenović-Matalj family is dedicated to producing the highest quality grapes and wines on 27 hectares of vineyards spread over three different vineyards: terraced vineyard in the village of Mihajlovac, part of the Mihajlovac vineyard Kremenjaca vineyard in the village of Tamnič, located in the Rajac vineyard The Bukovo vineyard is located above the Bukovo monastery in the Negotin vineyard. Each of these vineyards represents a unique microunit with specific climatic conditions and soil characteristics, which contribute to different wine profiles. Our beginnings

Our beginnings are linked to international grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Gamay. In recent years, however, we have increasingly focused on local varieties such as Crna Tamjanika, Prokupac, Začinak, Kadarka and Bagrina. This combination creates unique premium wines that combine tradition with a modern approach.

Our vision

Our vision and commitment is not only to preserve the exceptional potential of Negotinska Krajina, but also to revive it. We strive to get it back on the European wine list, where it has always belonged, in order to enrich the region's wine culture and offer visitors a unique experience that celebrates tradition and quality. With every sip of our wine, we want to express our love for this country and its wealth of varieties.
