The Barrique No. 3/4 shows how much Serbian Tamjanika can develop when given time, wood, and maturity. While the Tamjanika Basic stands for freshness, Muscat aroma, and clear fruit, the Barrique No. 3/4 opens up with structure, warmth, and depth – a wine for quiet evenings, not for a quick moment.
Made from 100% indigenous Tamjanika grapes, this wine comes from the Župa – Tri Morave region, where calcareous soils and high temperature fluctuations give the grapes aromatic precision.
In the glass, it displays a golden-yellow glow with greenish reflections. On the nose, nutmeg, thyme, basil, and cinnamon combine, finely complemented by oak and vanilla. The aromas appear mature, calm, and harmonious.
On the palate, the wine presents itself powerful, creamy, and multifaceted. The overripe grapes give it a delicate, jammy sweetness, which gains complexity through six months of aging on fine lees (Sur Lie). The barrique adds spice and length without overpowering the grape variety.
Comparison to Tamjanika Basic:
The Basic shows freshness, lightness, and floral clarity – ideal as an aperitif or with fish and seafood.
The Barrique No. 3/4, on the other hand, offers depth, richness, and spicy structure – suitable with cheese, mushroom dishes, pasta, or risotto.
