🏆Gold – Expovina Wine Trophy 2025
The 2020 Kremen from the Matalj winery is one of the most distinctive red wines from the Negotinska Krajina region. Winning gold at the Expovina Wine Trophy 2025 in Zurich, it impressively underscores the international appeal of Serbia's top wines.
Its origins lie in the unique terroir of the "Kremenjača" vineyard in the Rajački vineyards. Here, at an altitude of 200–250 meters with a southwesterly exposure, the grapes ripen under ideal climatic conditions: sunny days, cool winds from the Homolje Mountains, and mineral-rich, stony soil. This interplay gives the wine its unmistakable elegance and power.
In the glass, the Kremen displays a deep ruby red color . The bouquet combines plums, black currants, and ripe cherries , accompanied by cedar wood, subtle oak spice, and fresh mint . On the palate, it delights with a powerful structure , lively acidity, and velvety tannins that blend harmoniously with the wood notes. The finish is long, fruity, and elegant—a red wine with great potential for development.
