The Janko Testament 2016 is a Merlot that rewards patience. It shows how Serbian red wines can combine character and elegance without losing intensity.

On the nose, a complex aromatic interplay unfolds in stages: first plum jam, then ripe blueberries and pressed cherries, later blackberries, blackcurrants and dark chocolate – accompanied by espresso and a hint of leather.

On the palate, the dark fruit reveals its full concentration: blackberry, blackcurrant, plum. Then, a fine spiciness of tobacco, black tea, and poppy seed strudel opens up. The acidity keeps the wine fresh, the tannins are present but precise, and the alcohol is well integrated. Wood is noticeable but restrained – the fruit carries the wine.

The Janko Testament is a medium-bodied, deeply structured Merlot with clear aging potential. Already harmonious today, it will gain further depth and elegance in the coming years.
