Silver – Expovina Wine Trophy 2025
Falstaff 96 points – Peter Moser 2023
The Kremen Kamen Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 from the Matalj winery is one of Serbia's most renowned red wines. At the Expovina Wine Trophy 2025 in Zurich, it impressed the jury and was awarded silver —further international recognition for the quality of Serbian wines. Falstaff editor-in-chief Peter Moser also awarded it an impressive 96 points , catapulting the wine into the league of top wines.
Its origins lie in the legendary Kremenjača vineyard in Negotinska Krajina. Marine deposits and flint characterize the terroir here, giving the wine its unique minerality.
In the glass, Kremen Kamen presents a deep ruby red with intense viscosity. The nose reveals black currants, dried plums, and blackberries , complemented by notes of forest floor, eucalyptus, tobacco, leather, cocoa, and white pepper . On the palate, it is powerful and harmonious , supported by ripe tannins, with a long, complex finish and great aging potential.
