Quince brandy is known in Serbia as Dunjevača and is one of the popular but rare spirits or rakijas. It is rare primarily because approximately 25 kg of ripe quinces are needed to produce one liter of quince brandy. To produce this particularly mild and popular quince brandy, particularly ripe quinces of the Leskovačka variety are needed, which in turn require extremely high levels of sun. Serbia offers ideal conditions for this. The Belgrade Urban Distillery has its own quince trees and can therefore maintain consistently high quality. It is distilled twice and then reduced to 40% alcohol by volume with fresh spring water. This quince brandy is aged in oak barrels, which gives it an additional, refined, and complex bouquet. Initially, it smells of honey and ripe fruit, later becoming dominated by the scent of quince jam. The taste of ripe quince is lingering, with a pleasant oak aroma. It's suitable both as an aperitif and as a digestif. Serve slightly chilled. Alcohol content: 40%.
