Overview
Zemna Reserva 2020 is a Bordeaux blend from Vinarija Matalj, made from grapes grown in the Mihajlovac terraced vineyard in the Negotinska Krajina region. The assemblage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, with an alcohol content of 15% vol., attests to a fully ripe vintage with pronounced concentration.
In the glass
Deep ruby red with a dense core of color, opaque and with heavy viscosity.
On the nose
Fruity aromas with dominant dark berry fruit. Subtle cedar notes and a hint of tobacco lend depth to the bouquet. The aromatics display the concentrated character of a fully ripe, Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated vintage.
On the palate
Powerful and full-bodied with pronounced tannins that reveal cedar notes on the finish. The structure is dominant and built for longevity. The wine is in an early stage of maturity and shows further development potential.
Food pairing
Grilled beef, herb-crusted lamb shank, wild boar pot roast, aged hard cheese, hearty meat dishes.

Origin
The Mihajlovac terraced vineyard in Negotinska Krajina is located on terroir typical for the region. Vinarija Matalj in Negotin cultivates this site as part of its 27-hectare vineyard area. The winery is considered one of Serbia's top addresses.
