Overview

"Plato 2017" is the ultra-limited Merlot bottling from Vinarija Vladimir — named after the ancient philosopher as a symbol of the pursuit of the ideal. A single-varietal Merlot in a strictly limited edition, now revealing its philosophical peak after several years of maturation.

In the glass

Developed ruby garnet with a garnet-orange rim; transparent and clear, with tertiary reflections of bottle aging.

On the nose

Ripe black plum, cassis, soft cherry. Secondary aromas of cedar, chocolate, and tobacco. Balsamic depth and leather from several years of bottle aging.

On the palate

Silky, fully integrated tannins. Harmonious acidity and excellent length. The mature Merlot now shows maximum accessibility and complexity. Very long finish.

Food pairing recommendations

Tournedos Rossini, Beef Wellington, aged hard cheese, duck breast with truffle sauce.
