Plato 2017 – The Epitome of Serbian Merlot Elegance
What this wine means to you: depth, precision, exclusivity. Plato 2017 is no ordinary Merlot – it is the flagship of Serbian winemaking, created for collectors and connoisseurs. With an edition of only 3,200 bottles, it is one of the rarest wines in the country.
In the glass, Plato shows a deep ruby red, with a dense core and fine streaks of viscosity. On the nose, intense aromas of black cherries, plums, dark chocolate and toasted oak unfold, accompanied by notes of tobacco, liquorice and fine coffee.
On the palate, it impresses with its compact structure and silky tannins. Ripe fruit, mellowness and fine spice combine to form a complex, long finish that unites warmth, depth and concentration. The 24-month maturation in French Radoux barriques gives it a balance between fruit, wood and mineral freshness.
The grapes come from vineyards planted in 2007, with a yield of only 1–2 kg per vine – an expression of uncompromising selection and manual work.
