At a glance
"Medovača Šljiva" is a plum-honey rakija from Stara Pesma — the combination of classic Šljivovica (plum brandy) with Serbian bee honey results in a harmonious, sweeter distillate with a fuller texture and less sharpness than pure Šljivovica.
In the glass
Golden yellow to light amber; clear, warm color.
On the nose
Ripe plum, damson, and dried plums dominate. Honey, beeswax, and a hint of vanilla form the sweet framework. With aeration, a nutty, candied note emerges.
On the palate
Smooth entry, less sharpness due to the honey content. The plum fruit dominates on the palate. Warm, sweetish, and carried by a long aromatic finish. The finish is soft and lingering.
Serving suggestion
As a digestif after a Serbian meal; with desserts, plum tart, intense cheeses, or neat at room temperature.

Origin
Stara Pesma — traditional Serbian fine distillery. Šljivovica is Serbia's national drink; the Medovača version is an artisanal refinement with honey from regional beekeeping.
