Janko Zavet 2020

The grapes for this distinctive red wine come from the vineyards of the Janko winery in Ralja . The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is determined in the vineyard. After the harvest, a two-week maceration begins, followed by an additional month of ageing on the lees.

The wine is then transferred to Serbian oak barrels —a combination of new and used barriques—where it matures for 12 months. Shortly before bottling, the Merlot portion is added to round out the composition.

Fragrance:
A complex aroma with dominant notes of red and black berries, complemented by nuances of tobacco, coffee, black tea, humidor wood and moist forest soil .

Taste:
On the palate, the Zavet is harmonious and excellently balanced – with soft tannins, well-integrated acidity and a very long, elegant finish .
