Overview
The Bas Prokupac is a single-varietal expression of the indigenous Serbian grape Prokupac from Vinarija Janko, Smederevsko Vinogorje. Prokupac is considered one of Serbia's oldest native grape varieties and, in this winery, it displays an elegant, fruit-driven profile with characteristic freshness.
In the glass
Deep ruby red with violet reflections, transparent and of vibrant color.
On the nose
Complex bouquet with ripe cherries and plum notes in the foreground. Freshly ground coffee and damp leaves add earthy accents, while mineral undertones round off the nose. The aromatics are precise and clear, without reduction.
On the palate
Elegant and medium-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins. The acid structure is lively and gives the wine freshness and length. The finish is fruity-mineral with fine herbal nuances. The aging potential extends to 2028.
Food pairing
Grilled lamb, Pljeskavica with onions, braised dishes with paprika, aged sheep's cheese, hearty stews of Serbian cuisine.
