Overview
The "7 Hrastova" (Seven Oaks) Cuvée Red is the Matijašević winery's representative red blend from Fruška Gora, the vineyard mountains in Serbian Vojvodina. The Cuvée combines international grape varieties into a balanced, barrique-aged red wine.
In the glass
Rich ruby red with garnet reflections; good density and color depth.
On the nose
Black cherry, plum jam, and cassis in the foreground. Underlying notes of cedar, vanilla, and fine roasted aromas from barrique contact. Slight tobacco and leather nuances appear with aeration.
On the palate
Structured and full, with fine-grained tannins. The acidity balance is harmonious. The finish shows spice and dark fruit, long and warm.
Food pairing
Pan-fried beef fillet, duck breast with red wine jus, aged hard cheeses like Parmigiano or Pecorino, venison ragout.
