Overview
Crveni Zapis 2020 is a single-varietal Merlot from Vinarija Janko, Smederevsko Vinogorje. The 2020 vintage benefited from a mild spring, a warm summer, and a dry autumn – ideal conditions for fully ripe grapes and a structured, cellar-worthy red wine.
In the glass
Deep, bright ruby red with a dense, colored rim.
On the nose
Elegant bouquet with ripe plums and dark berries at the center. Subtle notes of cedarwood and vanilla underpin the fruit, while a hint of espresso and fine wood complement the complex aromatic profile.
On the palate
Full-bodied, silky, and harmonious. The tannins are juicy and well-integrated, and the acidity keeps the wine fresh and vibrant. The finish is long, fruit-driven with delicate spice. The drinking window extends to 2028, during which the wine will develop further complexity.
Food pairing recommendations
Braised beef shoulder, lamb tagine, entrecôte with red wine jus, aged hard cheeses, game pâté.
