Overview

Trigio Rouge 2020 is the red wine of the Trigio line from Vinarija Trivanović, Fruška Gora. The Bordeaux-inspired cuvée with a Merlot majority, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon, was aged in barriques and displays the typical smoothness and spice of a well-developed Fruška Gora red wine.

In the glass

Mature cherry red of medium intensity, clear and with a warm sheen.

On the nose

Dominant fermentative and secondary barrique aromas: cherry liqueur and plum jam form the fruity profile, while black pepper and toasted vanilla from the barrique aging complement the nose with spice and depth.

On the palate

Full-bodied and opulent, spices and dried apricots dominate the mid-palate, rounded off by red and black fruits. The tannins are young and velvety, the finish long and spicy. Decanting is recommended for optimal development.

Food pairing

Grilled red meat, lamb and veal with oven-baked potatoes, hearty stews.

Origin

Vinarija Trivanović in Šid, a third-generation family winery since 1959, cultivates 49 hectares on the western slopes of Fruška Gora. Trigio Rouge is the standalone red wine representative of the Trigio best-buy line, introduced in 2024.
