Overview
ToCa 2018 is a matured Bordeaux cuvée from Vinarija Trivanović, grown in the Lug vineyard on the slopes of Fruška Gora. After 12 months of aging in 225-liter Serbian oak barriques, the 2018 vintage displays classic Bordeaux character with a Serbian terroir signature and is currently in its optimal drinking window.
In the glass
Ruby red of light intensity with a dense, colored rim – characteristic of a matured 2018.
On the nose
High-intensity, multi-layered aromatic attack: aronia, cranberry, pomegranate, and sour cherry form the fruit core. Rose hip jam, herbs, coffee, and roasted orange peel add complex secondary notes, while cedarwood and tobacco indicate barrique aging.
On the palate
Fruit-driven with harmoniously integrated, roasted secondary notes. The texture is full-bodied with a slightly effervescent freshness. Sweet, polymerized tannins, a long finish with cedarwood and tobacco. The wine has reached its optimal stage of development.
Food pairing
Game stews, grilled dishes and braised meats, hearty lamb dishes, aged hard cheese.
