Overview
Chardonnay Selekcija 2023 is the premium selection of white wine from Vinarija Matalj in Negotinska Krajina. With 92 points from James Suckling and a combined aging process in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels made of French, Slavonian, and Serbian oak, the wine exhibits both fresh fruit and structural depth.
In the Glass
Medium pale yellow with a golden sheen, clear and with a warm glow.
On the Nose
Ripe, opulent bouquet: melon, pear, and quince form the fruity framework, complemented by acacia and fine hay. A subtly buttery note and golden apple with apricot lend depth and complexity to the bouquet.
On the Palate
Medium-bodied, harmonious, and balanced with pronounced, crisp acidity and creamy texture. The integrated oak provides structure without dominating. The finish is long and elegant – ripe apple, quince, subtle oak notes, and toasted hazelnuts.
Food Pairing
Poultry with creamy sauce, grilled fish, seafood, risotto, ripe soft cheese.
