The Kovačević Chardonnay demonstrates how precisely and modernly white wine from Fruška Gora can be interpreted. A dry Chardonnay that deliberately focuses on balance: clear and invigorating at first impression, yet creamy and long on the finish.
With an annual production of around 1.5 million bottles, the Kovačević winery is one of the leading producers in Serbia. Chardonnay is the house's most important flagship: around 300,000 bottles annually, with a strong focus on export. In Switzerland, this Chardonnay has established itself as a clear bestseller.
On the nose, green apple and pear dominate, complemented by elegant citrus notes. Subtle, finely roasted hints arise from partial aging in wood, giving the wine additional depth without overpowering the fruit. On the palate, it is fresh, aromatic, and precise, with a creamy, long-lasting texture that harmoniously combines with the lively acidity. It is precisely this interplay of playfulness and richness that characterizes its profile.
The grapes come from the vineyards of Fruška Gora in the Srem region, characterized by a moderately continental climate. The clay and limestone soils support structure and freshness. The aging process is differentiated: 85% in stainless steel tanks to preserve clarity and varietal typicity, 15% in large oak barrels (3,000 l) for fine complexity and texture.
