Overview
Vrtlog Bariq 2021 is a wood-aged Sauvignon Blanc from Vinarija Janko, one of the winery's most renowned white wine cuvées. With Decanter Silver 2017 (Score 90) and the title "Best White Wine of the Balkans" (BIWC Sofia 2015), Vrtlog is among Serbia's internationally recognized white wines. Annual production is limited to 3,000 bottles.
In the glass
Deep, bright golden yellow with green highlights, clear and of opulent color.
On the nose
Intense, complex bouquet: peach dominates powerfully, accompanied by mango, gooseberry, and elderflower. Barely perceptible, noble wood notes support the aroma spectrum without overpowering it. The aroma is opulent and powerful.
On the palate
Full-bodied and creamy with crisp acidity – powerful and elegant at the same time. The texture is dense, the finish of exceptional length with persistent peach and exotic fruit notes. The barrique aging in Serbian oak adds depth without compromising the varietal freshness.
Food pairing
Scallops with saffron sauce, gambas al ajillo, sushi and Omakase dishes, avocado preparations, duck breast with orange.
