Overview
Mesečina is a Brut sparkling wine from Vinarija Janko made from 100% Chardonnay, produced using the traditional bottle fermentation method (Méthode Traditionnelle). The name – Serbian for moonlight – stands for the calm, elegant style of this cuvée from the Smederevsko Vinogorje region.
In the glass
Pale yellow with a golden shimmer, fine and persistent perlage, lively brilliance.
On the nose
Yellow apples and vineyard peach appear fresh and precise; fine yeasty notes of butter, bread crust, and Petit-Beurre biscuits result from aging on the lees. The aromatic spectrum is clear, without broad opulence.
On the palate
Light, airy, and elegant with very well-balanced acidity. The perlage is fine and animating. The texture shows medium-bodied creaminess, the finish is precise, harmonious, and of mineral freshness. No residual sugar impression – classic Brut character.
Food pairing
Oysters, grilled seafood, salmon with caper butter, goat cheese tartlets, fine poultry ragout, as an aperitif.
