Overview
Adut 2022 is a varietally typical Traminac (Gewürztraminer) from Vinarija Janko, originating from the Smederevsko Vinogorje region, Serbia. The name “Adut” – Serbian for trump card – reflects the significance of this aromatically intense grape variety within Janko’s assortment. The wine showcases the classic Gewürztraminer spectrum, expressed in a continental climate style.
In the Glass
Intense golden yellow with a slight coppery shimmer, clear and with dense viscosity.
On the Nose
The bouquet opens with lychee and rose petals as leitmotifs – typical for the variety. Behind this, nutmeg, orange peel, and a fine spicy depth unfold. The aroma is opulent, yet clearly structured and not overbearing.
On the Palate
Full-bodied with pronounced fruit richness and a lively acidity that balances the richness. The texture is oily-creamy, the finish spice-driven and of persistent length. The wine appears dry, with mineral undertones in the aftertaste.
Food Pairing
Asian dishes with coconut milk and ginger, Peking duck, Thai curry, foie gras with fruit confit, ripe aromatic cheeses such as Munster or Limburger.
